Abstract (en)
Briquettes of good loading strength, weathering resistance and fire resistance are produced from non-caking fine-grained fuels such as anthracite or lean coal, fine coke, hard lignite or charcoal, by spraying the fine-grained fuel, heated to more than 70 DEG C, with a hot aqueous solution of a fully saponified polyvinyl alcohol, homogenising the mixture of fuel and binder solution and briquetting it with efficient fume removal. According to the invention, 0.3 to 4% of starch is here added to the mixture before the homogenisation. The briquettes produced according to the invention burn without evolving smoke and soot, and their combustion off-gases are free of pollutants, so that the briquettes meet the demands of protecting the environment.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Briketts mit guter Verlade-, Wetterstands- und Feuerstandsfestigkeit aus nicht backenden feinkörnigen Brennstoffen wie Anthrazit- oder Magerkohle, Feinkoks, Hartbraunkohle oder Holzkohle. Das Verfahren besteht darin, daß man den auf über 70°C erhitzten feinkörnigen Brennstoff mit einer wässrigen heißen Lösung eines vollverseiften Polyvinylalkohols bedüst, das Gemisch aus Brennstoff und Bindemittellösung homogenisiert und unter guter Entwrasung zu Briketts verpreßt. Erfindungsgemäß wird dabei dem Gemisch vor dem Homogenisieren 0,3 bis 4 % Stärke zugesetzt. Die erfindungsgemäß hergestellten Briketts verbrennen rauch- und rußfrei und ihre Verbrennungsabgase sind frei von Schadstoffen, so daß die Briketts den Forderungen des Umweltschutzes gerecht werden.
