A cylindrical hollow charge (20, 30) having a graduated insert (19, 33) made of metal, the base-sided insert portion (22, 23) of which has a greater mass and a larger aperture angle than the nose-sided insert portion (21, 33), in which respect the insert produces a low-mass pre-projectile by way of a nose-sided insert portion (21, 33) and temporally offset a high-mass main projectile by way of a base-sided high mass insert portion directly adjoining thereto and in which respect the transition between the insert portions (21, 22) or respectively (31, 32) is short and, as a result of a constriction (23), almost step-shaped, characterised in that in the case of the insert (19, 33) the aperture angle (29) enclosing the two insert portions (21, 22) or respectively (31, 32) amounts to about 90 degrees and the base sided insert portion (22, 32) has a mass of 10 to 12 times that of the nose-sided insert portion (21, 31).
