Abstract (en)
The furnace comprises at least one plasma torch (B) disposed in the vicinity of one end of the furnace body (1) and of the axis of rotation. The furnace is equipped at the other end of the furnace body (1) with feed means (2) making it possible to establish a feed flow of material to be treated, substantially coaxial with the axis of rotation with a view to feeding the furnace with material only mechanically and which are disposed on a second torch (A) or a counter-electrode enabling the superimposed or transferred arc plasma to be established. Application to plasma-heated rotary drum furnaces for the treatment of materials such as alumina, magnesia or analogous refractory materials. <IMAGE>

Le four comprend au moins une torche à plasma (B) disposée au voisinage d'une extrémité du corps de four (1) et de l'axe de rotation. Le four est muni à l'autre extrémité du corps de four (1) de moyens (2) d'alimentation permettant d'établir un flux d'alimentation en matériau à traiter, sensiblement coaxial à l'axe de rotation en vue d'obtenir une alimentation du four en matériau par seul entraînement mécanique, disposés sur une seconde torche (A) ou une contre-électrode permettant d'établir l'arc plasma superposé ou transféré. Application aux fours rotatifs à plasma pour le traitement de matériaux comme l'alumine, la magnésie ou matériaux réfractaires analogues.
