[origin: US4770631A] An apparatus for supporting a ceramic tube during firing thereof includes a base on which is mounted a lower end of the ceramic tube and supports extending upwardly from the base. A brick member is supported on the supports for grasping an upper end of the ceramic tube and for, during axial contraction of the tube during firing thereof, suspending the tube and allowing withdrawal of the lower end of the tube from the base while ensuring vertical alignment of the thus suspended tube. The brick has therethrough an opening for surrounding the upper end of the tube and defining a balancing space between the brick and the tube. Mortar fills the balancing space.

Bei einer Einrichtung zum Halten eines keramischen Rohres während des Brennens ist das Rohr an seinem oberen Ende aufgehängt. Um die Aufhängung zu verbessern, ist ein Stein (5, 6, 7) vorgesehen, der das obere Ende (8) des Rohres (4) umgreift. Eine Ausgleichsfuge (11) zwischen dem Stein (5, 6, 7) und dem Rohr (4) ist mit Mörtel (12) gefüllt. Der Stein (5, 6, 7) ist über Stützen (2) am Boden (1) der Einrichtung gelagert. Das Rohr (4) ist auf dem Boden (1) aufgestellt. Es ergibt sich dabei von selbst eine vertikale Ausrichtung des Rohres (4) nach dessen Schwinden vor dem Aushärten des Mörtels (12).
