The wire clamping elements have lugs (3) in the region of their free limb ends, which lugs are penetrated by wire ring parts (4) and the support is provided with parallel paths (10), each path having a depressed surface region (11) and raised surface regions (12) arranged on both sides of said depressed surface region and the ring parts contact the depressed region. A transport unit is to be provided which is distinguished by a low stacking height and in which it is guaranteed during transportation that the wire clamping elements neither slip nor tilt nor are they deformed.
