The apparatus comprises an element (1) for supporting the upper segment of the limb, this element being held by an assembly (2) for fixation to the operating table, an element (3) for supporting the lower segment and fixed to the previous element or to the fixation assembly (2) via a central element (4) permitting the various angular positions of the element supporting the lower segment relative to the element supporting the upper segment the said central element (4) being intended to be positioned under the articulation of the lower segment of the limb to the upper segment. The central element (4) consists of several parts arranged in an open chain and capable of pivoting relative to one another, each one in an axis transverse to the pivoting axis of the other parts. The said central element is also provided with internal means for blocking the pivoting of the various parts relative to one another, these said locking means being controlled simultaneously from a single control member. <IMAGE>

L'appareil support de membre comprend un élément (1) de soutien du segment supérieur de membre, porté par un ensemble (2) de fixation à la table d'opération, un élément (3) de soutien du segment inférieur fixé au précédent ou à l'ensemble de fixation (2) par un élément central (4) autorisant diverses positions angulaires de l'élément de soutien de segment inférieur par rapport à l'élément de soutien du segment supérieur, le dit élément central (4) étant destiné à être positionné sous l'articulation du segment inférieur de membre au segment supérieur. L'élément central (4) est constitué en plusieurs parties agencées en chaîne ouverte susceptibles de pivoter les unes par rapport aux autres, chacune suivant un axe transversal à l'axe de pivotement des autres parties. Le dit élément central est pourvu également de moyens internes de blocage en pivotement des différentes parties les unes par rapport aux autres, ces dits moyens de blocage étant simultanément commandés à partir d'un même organe de commande.
