Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0254798A2] The method serves for the manufacture of a wooden frame composed of a plurality of battens. Each individual batten is worked on its boundary faces by at least one suitably arranged working shaft of a processing machine and then joined to the other battens to form the wooden frame. The wooden frame is finally delivered on its outer sides to a finishing point. In order to manufacture the wooden frame rapidly and cost- effectively, after working the individual battens, at least one of the working shafts is moved in order to work the wooden frame in the region of its boundary faces bounding it on its outer side. The battens can be planed on all boundary faces extending in the longitudinal direction and cut into lengths on their boundary faces extending transversely to the longitudinal direction. The machine for working the battens for wooden frames has a working section, past which the battens are conveyed in the conveying direction. Provision is made for at least two working shafts to produce profiles which extend in the longitudinal direction of the battens through at least one of their boundary faces. In order to be able to employ the machine relatively universally in the manufacture of wooden frames and therefore utilise it fully, a tool suitable for milling round the wooden frame is fastened to at least one of the working shafts. During the milling, the wooden frame lies on the working section. At least one of the tools provided for working the battens can be arranged so as to be movable transversely to the conveying direction of the battens. In addition, at least one of the working shafts can be arranged so as to be displaceable transversely to the conveying direction of the battens.
