[origin: EP0255483A2] In a switching mechanism 1 of a protective switch, it is proposed that the bell crank 8 and the tripping lever 10 form such an angle with respect to one another that the resulting force on the latch and on the tripping movement B of the impact armature 14 are both smaller when making contact with the contact parts 3 and 4 than in the fully switched-on state of the protective switch. The individual parts of the switching mechanism 1 are designed to be compatible with automata. A guide clip 12 and a guide 13 in the base part of the housing 2 ensure that the switching mechanism is not tilted, even when the housing is open. <IMAGE>
