Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0255719A1] 1. Device for manufacturing cylindrically or conically shaped deep bodies with a lateral projection, particularly handle cups, out of a powdery or granular ceramic material by isostatic pressing, with at least two pressing moulds (1, 3) defining the mould cavity (4) and including at least one outer pressing mould (1) defining the outer face of the shaped body and of the projection and one pressing mould (3) immersing into said outer pressing mould and defining the inner face of the shaped body, one of which pressing moulds is provided with at least one single-piece membrane (11) which is operable by pressure means and adapted to the shaped body, characterized in that an undivided outer pressing mould (1) is provided for in which a membrane (11) adapted to the outside of the projection and of the shaped body is taken up, that in the charging position the outer pressing mould (1) together with a filling ring (7) defines a filling and evacuation slit (19), for closing the mould cavity (4) is movable in axial direction of the pressing mould against the inner pressing mould (2), therein statically compressing the ceramic mass located in the mould cavity, and that the inner pressing mould (2) includes a support wedge (5) the forming surface (22) of which mates the upper edge of the projection.
