[origin: EP0255924A2] The invention relates to a process as well as to a device for influencing the coloured appearance of a coloured surface made up of at least three separate coloured inks in one printing operation, based upon densitometric measurements, where the influence on the coloration takes effect in dependence on a summation vector, which is determined by density value differences of the separate coloured inks in a colour space. In this way, it is possible to carry out the control and adjustment of the printing process, based upon the densitometric measurements, in dependence on the variations in the brightness and colour saturation, whereby a reduction in the print spoil level is obtained as a result of a better-targeted control.
