The method is for manufacturing an electrode or an electrode cap from a copper alloy for resistance welding by cold extrusion. The starting material is initially subjected to a heat treatment to achieve a fine-grained structure. Then the hardness of the copper alloy is increased by cold forming. Subsequently, the electrode cap is produced by cold extrusion.

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zum Herstellen einer Elektrode bzw. einer Elektrodenkappe aus einer Kupferlegierung zum Widerstandsschweißen durch Kaltfließpressen. Das Ausgangsmaterial wird zunächst einer Wärmebehandlung zur Erzielung eines feinkörnigen Gefüges unterworfen. Dann wird die Härte der Kupferlegierung durch Kaltverformung erhöht. Anschließend wird die Elektrodenkappe durch Kaltfließpressen gefertigt.
