[origin: EP0256306A2] In a moisturising vaporiser, which has a fan (8), rotating about a vertical axis, and a spraying part (9), coaxial to the said fan and driven together with the fan by an external-rotor motor (7), the air is taken in through an air filter (12) arranged on the circumference of a housing (1, 2, 4), is passed through a moistener part (11), arranged inside the air filter, and deflected in an airwasher chamber (40), which surrounds the spraying part. The fan conveys the treated air to an outlet grid (5) on the upper side of the housing. Arranged between the airwasher chamber (40), acting as an air-collecting chamber, and the fan there is a drip catcher (60), which rotates with the fan, conducts the airflow in air channels 66 and deflects it relatively abruptly radially inwards. The drip catcher, formed by a plurality of spaced-apart radial rings (61), catches the drips which do not follow the air deflection and directs them away under the effect of centrifugal force in the direction of the moistener part. The drip catch effectively prevents drips escaping from the moistening vaporiser, without adversely affecting the throughput of air through the fan or increasing the power consumption. <IMAGE>
