Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0256441A2] A glazed building element, such as a window or door, has a reversible glass pane arrangement composed of a polygonal, especially rectangular, fixed frame (114) and of a first movable frame (112) pivotable in the fixed frame (114) around an axis parallel to one edge between a first fixable sealing position and a second fixable sealing position. Operating mechanisms are disclosed for fixing and/or sealing the movable frame (112) in its two fixable positions. In a window for example, a second movable frame (212) is laterally hinged to the fixed frame (114) by a pivot bearing device that allows the plane of the second movable frame (212) to be shifted in relation to the first movable frame (212) and to the fixed frame (114). Alternatively, in doors for example, the first frame with the second frame set therein forms a pivotable unit within a fixed frame, the first frame being mounted with strap hinges on a longitudinal edge of the fixed frame, in such a way that the operating fitting is used for fixing the second frame.
