Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8704941A1] Safety ski binding, in particular a heel support (2, 102) with a base plate (3, 103) to be secured to the upper surface of the ski and carrying a vertical rotary pin (4, 104). The heel support (2, 102) is provided with a sole support (6, 106) which can be pivoted upwards against a releasable catch and with a support plate (8, 108) which can pivot around a vertical axis, for the heel (10a) of the ski-boot (10, 110). The support plate (8, 108) is subjected to the pressure of a spring (121) in its central position. In order to be able, in such a ski binding, to locate the rotation axis for the ski-boot (10, 110) roughly in the extension of the tibia and at the same time simplify the design of the ski binding, it is proposed that the rotary pin (4), when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the ski, is located between the front jaw (5) and heel support (2), that the support plate (8) is pivotally supported on the rotary pin (4). By means of a guide mechanism formed of a roller (155) and guide curve (156) the heel support (102) is opened in a horizontal release process. According to the invention, the roller (155) is supported by means of its axis running in the longitudinal direction of the ski in the base plate (103), which cooperates with a guide element (156) which can actuate the releasable catch of the heel support (102). In addition, the support plate (8') can also be designed as a sole plate.
