Abstract (en)
Alkanol fuel compositions having improved lubricity and anti-wear characteristics contain an ester of an 8 to 90 carbon atoms mono- or polycarboxylic acid and a 2 to 90 carbon atoms polyhydric alcohol; said ester having at least two free hydroxyl groups. Examples of such esters are those from dimers of linoleic acid and diethylene glycol; and polyoxyethylene sorbitol lanolin. Preferred quantities are from 0.0003 to 2.0% by weight based on the weight of the fuel composition.
