Abstract (en)
1. Method for separating of unglued cardboard-backed paper pads from a pile with a plurality of flush-edged cut paper layers (12) and cardboard inserts (14), characterised in that the pile abuts against an abutment means at its end which is covered by the end-sheet (12') in such a way that part of the pile freely protrudes over one edge of the abutment means ; that a force diagonal relative to the end of the pile is exerted against a point of application at the cutting surface of the protruding part of the pile which force bends the pile portion between the point of application and end-sheet whilst forming a wedgeshaped gap ; that the point of application of the force is displaced in the direction of the pile end so that a part of the bent paper layers (12) and cardboard inserts (14) spring back toward the pile under the influence of their resilience whereby the point of application is displaced until the last cardboard insert has sprung back and the last paper layer (12') including end-sheet (16) is bent away ; then the last paper layer (12') including end-sheet is separated from the remaining pile by entering into the wedgeshaped gap (15), thus forming a paper pad including cardboard back, and the last backward bent cardboard insert becomes the end-sheet during repetition of the separating process.
