Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0257660A2] An apparatus for judging an agglutination having a plate stand which is light transmittable for placing a microplate and including a plate stand perforated with a positioning opening for positioning the central position of each well of the microplate, a light source disposed on the plate stand, a TV camera provided for the light irradiated from above the microplate placed on the plate stand to be incident, an image memory for storing the output image of the TV camera, a processor for differentiating the stored image to determine the profile of the image, a counter for counting picture elements having intensity levels larger than zero of differentiated images, means for producing coefficient of variation, a plotter for producing the relationship between the coefficient of variation from the output of the counter and the counted value, and a comparator for comparing the output of the plotter with the reference value, thereby removing factors for causing the irregularity of the contrast of an original image by utilizing the result obtained by the limiting technique of a profile of the image.
