Machine for steaming shoe uppers with a chamber which is open on one side and is hermetically sealable by means of a lid, for receiving the upper to be steamed, into which steam can be introduced under pressure and with a valve which evacuates the pressure chamber, characterized by the combination of the following features : a) the chamber holding an individual upper is constructed as a round pressure tank (1), fitted with an outer adjustable heating sleeve (5) for increasing the steam temperature, b) preceding the pressure tank is a steam generator (9) for generating steam of selectable pressure in the machine, which can be supplied to the pressure tank by way of a conduit (16), c) preceding the steam generator is a water reservoir (7) in the machine, from which water can be supplied to the steam generator by way of a conduit (15) controlled by a feed pump (11), d) the lid (2) of the pressure tank can be lifted by a pressure medium-actuated cylinder (3) up to the front of the opening of the pressure tank and can be pressed tightly against a flange of the pressure tank by a pressure medium-actuated horizontal cylinder (4), e) the entire control of the machine is effected electro-pneumatically.
