[origin: US4766615A] A safety helmet comprising a shell and a chin-strap associated thereto, the one chin-strap end being rotatably mounted on a pivot fastened to the shell, the other chin-strap end being joined to the shell through a control member rotatably mounted on a pivot fastened to the shell, and so arranged as to move the chin-strap between two end positions, a first position allowing either fitting the helmet on, or removing the head therefrom, wherein the chin-strap projects in front of the chin to make the helmet opening completely free, and a second position corresponding to securing the helmet, wherein that chin-strap portion intended to bear under the chin to secure the helmet, is bearing underneath the chin.

Casque de protection comprenant une coque (1) et une jugulaire (2) associée à ladite coque, une des extrémités (3) de la jugulaire (2) étant montée à rotation sur un pivot (4) fixé à la coque, l'autre extrémité (7) de la jugulaire étant assemblée à la coque (1) par l'intermédiaire de moyens (8) pourvus d'un organe de commande (9), monté à rotation sur un pivot (10) fixé à la coque, et agencés pour déplacer la jugulaire (2) entre deux positions extrêmes, une première position, permettant soit la pose du casque soit le dégagement de la tête de ce dernier, dans laquelle la jugulaire (2) est projetée en avant du menton pour libérer totalement l'ouverture du casque et une seconde position, correspondant à l'assujettissement du casque, dans laquelle la partie (12) de la jugulaire (2) destinée à prendre appui sous le menton pour assujettir le casque est en appui sous le menton.
