Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0258585A2] The fence arrangement comprising posts (1) anchored at a distance from one another in the ground, and lattice works, such as wire or rod lattices (2), held on the posts, is equipped with a breakthrough safety device against motor vehicles. For this purpose, on the side of the fence facing the enclosed region, flexible, high-strength tension members (6, 6a) in the form of steel cables or chains are provided immediately adjacent to the said fence and running parallel to the latter at axle to chassis height of the motor vehicles, which tension members are fastened at intervals by their ends to separate anchoring posts (5), with the interposition of energy-consuming, elastically deformable or tubular load-limiting elements which are permanently deformable by compression (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
