[origin: EP0259636A2] With the aid of sensors, a noise emitted by a printing machine and transmitted through the air or from a solid body, for example from parts of the printing machine or its side walls, is detected and analysed. The sound frequency spectrum typical of the machine is suppressed and the [lacuna] appropriate to doubling or to an atypical pull-off behaviour of the material undergoing printing, for example from the blanket cylinder, is detected and indicated optically or acoustically.
