Beschrieben wird ein Stangenverschluß für Montage vorzugsweise im Verkantungsraum von Blechschranktüren (12), bestehend aus einem Schloß (16) mit durch das Türblatt (12) nach außen geführter Betätigungseinrichtung, wie Griff, Schwenkgriff, Schlüssel oder ggl., und aus zumindest einer parallel zur Türkante im Verkantungsraum oder dgl. verlaufenden, aus Flachbandmaterial bestehenden Stange (18), die an zumindest einer Stelle außerhalb des Schlosses (16) am Türblatt (12) hochkant stehend mittels Führungselementen mit entsprechendem Querschnitt (20) längs verschieblich gelagert ist, und mit zumindest einem am Türrahmen befindlichen Halteelement (38) zur die Tür in geschlossener Stellung verriegelnden Aufnahme der Stange (18), wobei erfindungsgemäß das am Türrahmen (24) befindliche Halteelement (38) aus einem U-Profil aufweisenden Bock besteht, der mit einem U-Profilsteg am Rahmen (24) derart befestigt ist, daß das Stangenprofil zwischen den Schenkeln des U-Profils verläuft, und das die U-Schenkel des Bockes in eine der Axialrichtungen der Stange (18) sich öffnende Einschnitte zur verrieglenden Aufnahme der von der Stange (18) getragenen Verriegelungszapfen (40) besitzen.
