The machine (10) for sanding the surface of a parquet floor (32) rests on the floor on a plurality of running rollers (14, 16, 18) and has two rolls (44, 46) which are each both rotatable about their longitudinal axis (48, 50) and can be rotated about a vertical axis (58) aligned perpendicularly to the surface of the parquet floor. Eine Parkettschleifmaschine (10) zum Abschleifen der Oberfläche eines Parkettfußbodens (32) ruht auf mehreren Fahrrollen (14, 16, 18) auf dem Parkettfußboden (32) auf. Die Parkettschleifmaschine (10) besitzt zwei Walzen (44, 46), die jede sowohl um ihre Walzenlängsachse (48, 50) drehbar als auch um eine senkrecht zur Parkettfußbodenoberfläche ausgerichtete Hochachse (58) rotierbar ist. Die Winkelgeschwindigkeit der beiden Schleifwalzen (44, 46) bei ihrer Rotation um die Hochachse (58) beträgt mehr als 200 Umdrehungen pro Minute.
