[origin: US4883134A] The invention relates to a motor-driven milling machine construction for cutting trenches in the ground, in which there are two rotating semi-drums with cutting tools at their periphery. The drums are mounted on a central support. The sole function of the motor is to transmit a rotational torque to the semi-drums without transmitting any other forces. The stress exerted on the cutting tools is directly transmitted to the central support without going through the motor frame.

L'invention est relative à un dispositif moteur pour engin destiné à creuser des tranchées dans le sol par fraisage, du type comportant au moins deux demi-tambours tournants munis d'outils à leur périphérie et supportés par une âme centrale. L'âme centrale (3) est constituée par une plaque verticale traversée par une douille tubulaire (7) creuse, à axe horizontal, coaxiale avec les demi-tambours (2), ladite douille (7) recevant à son intérieur un moteur d'entraînement (2) des demi-tambours, moteur dont le carter est verrouillé en rotation par rapport à la douille (7), un flasque (10) étant assujetti à chacune des extrémités de la douille (7) pour supporter les paliers (15) des demi-tambours correspondants, l'entraînement des demi-tambours (2) étant assuré à partir de l'axe (12) du moteur (9).
