[origin: EP0263368A2] In the case of a device 1 for controlling the idle air of internal combustion engines a rotary slide valve 6 controlling connection tubes 3 and 4 on a housing 2 and a stepping motor 7 connected to the same drive shaft are located in a common chamber 5 of the housing 2. The rotary slide valve 6 is a flat rotary slide valve 6 built into a drum 14. The drum 14, through which the regulated idle air flows, serves as a condensate barrier rotatably arranged inside the housing 2, which retains foreign bodies separated out of the idle air, in particular condensates, and prevents them getting into the chamber section 5' of the stepping motor 7, thereby improving the reliability of the regulating device 1. <IMAGE>
