[origin: EP0263735A1] Automatic packaging device for envelopes, such as postal and non- postal envelopes and pouches, bags and gusseted bags, disk pouches or food-packaging bags originating from a manufacturing line and selected by batches (1) comprising a means (2) for gripping the batch and a means (3) for tilting the latter, a means (4) for distributing into cardboard-type packages with an associated revolving plate (6) and a means (7) for removing completed packages. This device comprises a first gripper (20) with translational movement, a second gripper (30, 31) with angular movement, in order to enable gripping of the batch of envelopes by a third gripper (48) with translational movement, the latter depositing the batch of envelopes on tilting flaps (53, 54) which open in order to allow the said batch of envelopes to fall, due to gravity, into the package positioned on a revolving plate (60) provided with an up-and-down movement (63) and with an angular movement making it possible to arrange the batches of envelopes end- to-end, symmetrically, thereby preventing any excess thickness, a thrust device (70, 71) permitting removal of the package off the revolving plate. <IMAGE>
