[origin: US4842349A] A display counter for use in supermarkets and like establishments for temporary storage, cooling and displaying of foodstuffs has a case with a hollow upper section having a pivotable front panel at the customer side and a horizontal counter top. The front panel can be pivoted by one or more fluid-operated motors with assistance from an attendant and through the medium of hinges which are mounted on forwardly extending arms of the skeleton frame of the upper section of the case. The top marginal portion of the front panel is held between discrete or integra rails of the hinges so that its exposed side is normally flush with the upper side of the counter top. One of the rails has a portion which extends rearwardly and overlies the adjacent portions of the arms and of the counter top to seal the interior of the case from the surrounding atmosphere when the front panel is held in its operative position at the customer side of the counter. An attendant can assist the motor or motors to pivot the front panel to a raised position in which the interior of the upper section of the case is accessible at the customer side for restocking and/or cleaning.

Bei einer Verkaufstheke (10) mit um eine horizontale Achse beweglichen verkröpften Frontscheibe (30, 89) sind von der Verkäuferseite zur Kundenseite (15) hin verlaufende horizontale Tragarme (20) vorgesehen, die oberseitig eine feststehende Zahlplatte tragen und an ihren freien Enden an einem horizontalen Schwenklager (41, 42) einen Gelenkkopf (40) tragen. Der Gelenkkopf (40) umfaßt mit einem Scheibenhalter (80) den Randbereich der Frontscheibe (89) und besitzt eine Anlenkstelle für das eine bewegliche Ende des Kraftspeichers (35), dessen anderes Ende ortsfest am Tragarm angelenkt ist. Die Frontscheibe (30, 89) ist durch diesen Gelenkkopf (40) zwischen einer Hochklapplage und Zuklapplage beweglich. Um einen Spalt zwischen der Zahlplatte und der in Zuklapplage befindlichen Frontscheibe zu beseitigen, wird vorgeschlagen, den Scheibenhalter (80) des Gelenkkopfs (40) aus einer in Zuklapplage gesehen den Tragarm (20) verlängernden Konsole einerseits und einer entlang dem oberen Frontscheibenrand durchlaufenden Halteschiene andererseits zu erzeugen, wobei die Halterschiene an den Konsolen benachbarter Gelenkköpfe befestigt ist und zur Zahlplatte hin mit einer Deckleiste versehen ist.
