The submersible pile hammer has a striking element which can move in a hammer casing and, in operation, is suspended on a flexible supporting element which can hang down essentially vertically. The hammer has at least one positioning device (15), arranged on itself or on a drive unit connected to it for submersing together, the positioning device serving for transverse movement and/or turning of the pile hammer hanging on the supporting element. Each positioning device has at least one rotatable propeller and/or at least one jet nozzle for producing a flow directed essentially transversely to the longitudinal axis of the hammer casing and each propeller is connected to a drive motor and each jet nozzle is connected to a compressed gas space or a combustion chamber for producing a compressed gas jet, which can be operated by control devices from above the surface of the water. <IMAGE>

Eine tauchfähige Rammvorrichtung mit in einem Hammergehäuse beweglichem Schlagkörper, die im Betrieb an einem im wesentlichen senkrechten herabhängenden flexiblen Tragelement angehängt ist, besitzt mindestens eine an der Rammvorrichtung selbst oder einer mit dieser zum gemeinsamen Tauchen verbundene Antriebseinheit angeordnete Positioniervorrichtung (15) zur Querbewegung und/oder Verdrehung der am Tragelement hängenden Rammvorrichtung, wobei jede Positioniervorrichtung mindestens einen drehbaren Propeller und/oder mindestens eine Strahldüse zur Erzeugung einer im wesentlichen quer zur Längsachse des Hammergehäuses gerichteten Strömung aufweist und jeder Propeller mit einem Antriebsmotor und jede Strahldüse mit einem Druckgasraum oder einer Brennkammer zur Erzeugung eines Druckgasstrahls verbunden ist, die durch Steuervorrichtungen von oberhalb des Wasserspiegels betätigbar sind.
