[origin: EP0264039A2] A light fitting is constructed from a light fitting housing (11) encapsulated in a pressure-resistant fashion and a over part (12) which is fastened thereto and likewise encapsulated in a pressure-resistant fashion. Electrical components (14, 15) for supplying one or more lamps (25) arranged in the over part (12) are accommodated in the light fitting housing (11). In order to enable the light fitting housing (11) to be made from plastic instead of metal, high-volume filling parts (16, 21) are provided together with the electrical components (14, 15) in the light fitting housing (11). The volume of the filling parts (16, 21) is dimensioned such that a free residual volume (22, 28) of less than 3000 cm<3> remains between the inner surface of the light fitting housing (11) consisting of plastic and the outer surface of the filling parts and the electrical components (14, 15). <IMAGE>
