Abstract (en)

[origin: WO8706485A1] A safety fastener for skis, in particular a heel fastener, has a housing (6) with a catch (11, 12) and a sole fastener (14) vertically pivotable around a transversal axis (15). The housing (6) and a plate (2) are horizontally pivotable in relation to each other around a vertical axis (3). The catch (11, 12), driven by a spring (7), cooperates with the sole fastener (14) and with an extension (5) of the plate (2). A single spring (7) controls the vertical swinging of the sole fastener (14) and the horizontal swinging of the housing (6). The catch (11, 12) is built in two parts and is composed of a catch pawl (11) hinged to the housing (6) and a control element (12) rotatively arranged around the said pawl. The catch pawl (11) cooperates with a control cam (14c) of the sole fastener (14) hinged to the housing (6) and the control element (12) cooperates with the extension (5) of the plate (2), which forms a base plate firmly attached to the ski. In other modes of implementation of the invention, it is essential that the housing with the catch be movable in relation to the extension, regardless of the extension being part of a base plate firmly attached to the ski or of a movable plate horizontally pivotable in relation to the ski.
