[origin: US4723916A] A circular pin plug and socket connector has a conductor support block with a central axial bore therethrough and with a plurality of grooves extending radially from the bore. A cable having a plurality of conductors is received through the bore, with the conductors in the cable flaring radially into an individual ones of the grooves. The grooves are arranged to receive and to orient the individual conductors of the cable along a predetermined presentment angle. Each groove has a pair of slots associated therewith. The slots are sized to receive the tines of insulation displacement contact. The slots are arranged on a circular locus centered on the axis of the bore.
