[origin: WO8704753A1] Rotor (1) of a downhole screw motor shaped as a hollow multiple-thread screw with essentially constant wall thickness. The ratio between the length of the external contour of the cross-section of the rotor (1) and the length of the circumscribed circle of that contour is essentially equal to 0.9-1.05. The rotor (1) is made by inserting a forming element inside a tubular blank and applying, from outside, the pressure of a fluid medium. A device for making the rotor comprises a hollow casing with the forming element mounted inside it on centring bushings. The bushings are provided with supporting areas for push-fit mounting on them of the ends of the tubular blank.
