[origin: EP0265651A2] The floor nozzle (1) has a central suction hole (2), provided with thread pickups (3), and a separate suction channel (4) which is arranged in the region of the front edge of the floor nozzle (1), ahead of the suction hole (2). The suction channel (4) is widened in the shape of a funnel towards the underside of the floor nozzle (1) and is directly connected to the suction pipe (11) of the floor nozzle (1). A brush strip (7) extends in bell shape and has side portions (8) tapering obliquely towards the suction channel (4). The floor nozzle (1) has an improved frontal suction and, as a result of even distribution of the vacuum in the suction channel (4), improved dirt and dust pickup. The bell-shaped brush strip (7) brings about an improved support of the floor nozzle (1) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
