[origin: EP0265693A2] The refrigerating chamber has a base, four side walls (1), provided with at least one door (2), and a top (3), which are respectively produced from structural elements (4) of large surface area, the structural elements (4) of the top (3) being mounted on the upper end faces of the structural elements (4) forming the side walls (1). At least the side walls (1) and the top (3) are formed in double-shell design from structural elements (4) arranged at a distance from each other and separated from each other by an additional insulating layer (5). By appropriately shorter design of the inner structural elements (4), a continuous insulating layer (5) is obtained even in the connecting area between side walls (1) and top (3). <IMAGE>
