[origin: WO8705145A1] A tool (10) for releasing items (12) frictionally fitted on resilient supports (26) passing through apertures (30) therein, comprises a body with an end face (20) which may be brought to bear on the support and cause it to deform and release the item, the body having a surface (16) immediately adjacent the end face on which the item is carried when released. The item may comprise an audio compact disc normally carried on a support comprising a plurality of resilient fingers (28) frictionally engaging the sides of an aperture in the disc, the tool being used to bear against the ends of the fingers and cause them to deform and allow the disc to pass onto a surface of the body the diameter of which increases in a direction away from said end face from a value less than diameter of the aperture in the disc. The end face is formed with a centrally located projection (18) in use passed within the free ends of the fingers to ensure positive location of the tool. The projection may comprise a boss (72), or be of more complex form - e.g. two or more parts (80, 82) of differing diameters formed one upon the other on the end face - to permit use of the tool with differently configured supports. The body in one arrangement has a first part (70) extending from the end face (72) to a second part separated from said first part by a shoulder (66) upon which the disc may rest. The tool is said to further comprise a handle (22) and in one arrangement the body (44) and handle (42) comprise hollow, interengaging parts; one part (42) having a male member engaging within a female member of the other part (44). In this arrangement the male member includes a wall (56) conforming to an inner wall (62) of the other part and having one or more lands (60) formed on it for engaging slots (64) in the inner wall of the other part. The two parts may be joined by simple frictional engagement or with use of an adhesive, solvent welding or in any other suitable way as they are brought into engagement. The use of the tool is also described.

Un outil (10), destiné à dégager des objets (12) ajustés par friction sur des supports résilients (26) passant au travers d'ouvertures (30), comprend un corps présentant une face d'extrémité (20) pouvant venir s'appuyer sur le support pour le déformer et dégager l'objet, ledit corps ayant une surface (16) immédiatement adjacente à la face d'extrémité sur laquelle est posé l'objet lors de son dégagement. Ledit outil peut comprendre un disque compact acoustique reposant normalement sur un support comprenant plusieurs languettes résilientes (28) s'engageant par friction dans les côtés d'une ouverture du disque, l'outil venant s'appuyer contre les extrémités des languettes pour les déformer et permettre au disque de passer sur une surface du corps, dont le diamètre augmente vers l'extérieur depuis ladite face d'extrémité à partir d'une valeur inférieure au diamètre de l'ouverture du disque. La face d'extrémité est formée d'une projection (18) placée en son milieu, qui lors de l'utilisation passe dans les extrémités libres des languettes, afin de permettre un positionnement direct de l'outil. Ladite projection peut comprendre un renflement (72) ou présenter une forme plus complexe - tel qu'au moins deux parties (80, 82) de diamètres différents disposées l'une au-dessus de l'autre sur la face d'extrémité - afin de permettre l'utilisation de l'outil avec des supports de configurations différentes. Dans une variante, le corps comprend une première partie (70) s'étendant depuis la face d'extrémité (72) jusqu'à une seconde partie séparée de ladite première partie par une épaule (66) sur laquelle peut reposer le disque.
