[origin: EP0266623A2] Illustrated and described is an upper tool holder for a punch with a punching tool, carrier body and closing pot, the closing pot having a stationary inner pot and an outer pot rotatable relative to the inner pot about the longitudinal axis of the punching tool and surrounding the inner pot. The inner pot has a lateral push-in slot for the punching tool, surrounds the pushed-in punching tool in a plane transverse to the longitudinal axis of the punching tool on three sides and forms a three-sided guide for the punching tool. The outer pot has a lateral push-in slot for the punching tool, surrounds the pushed-in punching tool after rotation relative to the inner pot in the plane transverse to the longitudinal axis on the fourth side and closes the guide of the punching tool. The guide surface opposite the open side is formed on the inner pot and the guide surface closing the open side on the inner pot is in the form of an arc of a circle on the outer pot. The arc centres of the guide surfaces do not coincide, but are apart from one another by a specific amount - eccentricity -, in particular the arc centre of the guide surface of the outer pot being located on the side of the arc centre of the guide surface on the inner pot facing away from the open side of the inner pot.
