[origin: EP0266658A2] A servo steering for motor vehicles having two hydraulically separate steering circuits (1, 11) is provided with respectively associated control devices (5, 17), which are deflected by the rotary movement of a steering wheel (6). The first steering circuit (1) is supplied by a pump (3) driven by a motor (2) and the second steering circuit (11) is supplied by a wheel-driven pump (13). A servo unit (22) has two separate working pistons. In one of the two steering circuits (1, 11) there is a pressure limiting valve (23) which is controlled by the pressure of the other circuit (11) in such a way that the total potential of the hydraulic intensification is limited. <IMAGE>
