[origin: EP0266667A1] Relatively expensive building elements are used for fastening glass panes (5) of different thicknesses. The new building element is to permit a reduction in the number of parts required, which simplifies mounting and storage. Two upper and lower strips (1,2) which can fit into one another are provided, optionally supplemented by spacers (9). A cover profile can be attached to the upper strip (1) and a collecting profile for condensation water can be attached to the lower strip (2).
