The special feature of the water bed with a water-filled mattress is that the support frame for the mattress has a lower portion (2) which maintains the outside shape of the bed and, for this purpose, consists of a material of sufficient permanent rigidity. The upper portion (1) is made of relatively soft foam material with the result that the water bed is pleasantly resilient even in the region of the mattress border. <IMAGE>

Es wird ein Wasserbett mit einer wassergefüllten Matratze beschrieben, dessen Besonderheit darin besteht, daß der Stützrahmen für die Matratze einen unteren Abschnitt (2) besitzt, der die äußere Form des Betts aufrechterhält und zu diesem Zweck aus einem genügend dauersteifen Material besteht. Der obere Abschnitt (1) ist aus verhältnismäßig weichem Schaumstoff hergestellt, so daß das Wasserbett auch im Bereich der Matratzenumrahmung angenehm nachgiebig ist.
