Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0267654A2] The spent oil is pumped into a single-tube reactor, in which the individual fractions, such as, for example, heavy naphtha, gas oil, neutral oils, base oils and the like, are taken off at the side via separators and condensers, after they have passed through sections of different temperatures and pressures, and are, if appropriate, hydrogenated in sidestreams which can also be designed as single-tube reactors. <??>Moreover, the possibility of achieving very high flow velocities and hence extremely short and precisely controllable residence times in the single-tube reactor allows the cracking temperature to be substantially increased, as a function of time. <??>In addition, the process according to the invention and the apparatus can, with appropriate pressures and temperatures, also be applied for pyrolysis oil which is obtained in the pyrolysis of waste materials or other materials, for example in the pyrolysis of old tyres and plastic wastes. <IMAGE>
