Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0267872A2] The invention relates to the production of two types of multipurpose track provided, in particular, for equestrian sports, it being possible for the structure of the first of the tracks to be suitable both for outdoor and indoor use, the structure of the second track being provided for indoor use, that is to say in a covered ring. The "outdoor/indoor" track comprises, for example, four layers (4, 5, 6, 7). The layer (5) acts as a wear compensator, a non-slip surface for the horse and as a surface preventing the stones in the lower layer from mixing with the sand of the layer (6). It consists of gravel or crushed rock with added fillers or dust. Its particle size is 0/15 mm, its thickness is of the order of 10 cm. The surface layer (7) is made from a synthetic material. The structure of the "indoor" track is in two layers (10, 11). The layer (10) consists of clay stabilised with quicklime, the layer (11) also being made from a synthetic material. The latter will be "held" by the clay with which it forms a conglomerate with properties similar to those of a lawn. <IMAGE>
