Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0268149A2] The invention relates to a gearing for winding-up and unwinding a roller shutter consisting of several slats, which is mounted in a roller shutter box (3) or on two lateral shells (2) via a roller shutter cylinder (4), and the roller shutter box or the shells being mountable on the masonry or the like. The gearing comprises an inlet opening in a gear wheel for the insertion of an input rod to be operated manually or with a motor and an outlet opening in a gear wheel for the insertion of an output rod, which leads to the roller shutter cylinder or a roller shutter gearing preceding said cylinder. When starting from a known gearing of this type, to allow still further adaptation by the fitter to various soffits and installation conditions of the windows or doors at the construction site, i.e. in situ, corresponding to the particular conditions there, at least three intermeshing gear wheels are provided which each have an inlet or outlet opening (7, 8, 9) for the insertion of the input rod (10) or the output rod (6), the gearing (1) has a flange (11) for its releasable attachment to the roller shutter box or the lateral shell (2) and said flange is mounted at a point on the gearing situated outside the centre of the gearing (as seen in its longitudinal direction). <IMAGE>
