A rocker switch (10) comprising a switching element (16) which is pivotable between at least two switching positions and which is connected by way of a rocking axis (14) to a switching housing (12) of the rocker switch (10) which at its underside has a return spring (68) and two or more outwardly extending switching tongues (60 to 68) on respective ones of the two sides of the rocking axis (14), which switching tongues on one or other respective side of the rocking axis (14) can be brought sequentially into contact with microswitches (36 to 42), characterised in that the microswitches (36 to 42) or their actuating buttons (67) are arranged in one plane and that at least one switching tongue (66), in the central position of the switching element (16), is at a greater spacing relative to the associated actuating button (67) than at least one further switching tongue (62).
