Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0269497A1] A method for reinforcing a building structure element (1) comprises the following steps: cavities (4) are hollowed out in the zones to be reinforced by the element; reinforcement plates (5) pierced through with holes are inserted into the said cavities; the said cavities and the said holes are filled by means of a resin-based curable filling product so as to solidly bond the said plates to the element, the said reinforcement plates being sufficiently strong and dimensioned in order that they can render or impart to the element the desired stability after firmly bonding. It may further comprise the replacement of a missing portion (8) of the said wooden element with a resin mortar and the impregnation of damaged portions (3) of the said element with a fluid resin-based material. The said reinforcement plates (5) may be of wood, steel, metal or rigid plastic, are pierced with holes (6) and are equipped with dowels for positioning and for firmly securing, and comprise bearing projections. Application especially to operations for rehabilitating and restoring buildings. <IMAGE>
