[origin: EP0269539A2] The coupling is characterised in that the connecting force between the bulb and its base or socket or electrical contact support, single or composite, is a magnetic attraction force between a part provided in the bottom of the receptacle of the base, socket, support or otherwise, and another part disposed on the rear face of the cap of the bulb, the said parts being capable of magnetic attraction, the said cap and the socket possessing corresponding centring structures permitting the orientation and the passage of the electrical contacts. This invention is of interest to manufacturers and constructors of bulbs, lamps and lighting equipment. <IMAGE>
