[origin: EP0269989A1] Bitumen sealing strips of multilayer construction are used for the sealing off of roofs. Known bitumen sealing strips of this type consist of two carrier inserts made of different (inorganic and organic) materials. As a result of the different physical properties of these carrier inserts, bitumen sealing strips of this kind tend to undergo differing deformation, especially as a response to a change in temperature. This disadvantage is to be avoided by the invention. According to the invention, it is proposed to use the same material for the two carrier inserts (12, 14), specifically preferably polyester nonwoven. The bitumen sealing strip according to the invention is particularly suitable for sealing off flat roofs with one strip. <IMAGE>
