[origin: EP0248350A1] Rotary piston machine having a high rpm and pressure with travel and slippage engagement, in particular an internal combustion engine, with a) a stationary housing consisting of a cylindrical inner body (3), two side-walls (12, 13) and a cylindrical housing envelope (11) arranged coaxially to the inner body (3), and surrounding an annular chamber; b) a rotor arranged excentrically to the axis (14) of the housing, consisting of a rotor shaft (21), a rotor ring (25) tangential to the housing envelope/inner wall, dividing the annular chamber of the housing into a sickle-shaped inner working area (A1) and a sickle-shaped outer working area (A2), and two lateral discs (23, 24), one of which connects the rotor ring (25) to the rotor shaft (21) in a manner which prevents rotation; c) several piston slides (4) in the rotor ring (25) moving radially to the rotor axis (22), which slides by means of guide grooves (28) in the lateral discs (23, 24) are guided radially and, via guide surfaces (45) extending on both sides of the inner body (3) to the housing axis (14) and via guide elements (43) linked thereto, are so guided on cylindrical guide surfaces located concentrically to the housing axis (14) in the lateral surfaces (33, 34) of the inner body (3) that their outer edges (41) are held at a small distance from the housing envelope/inner wall (11) and their inner edges (42) are held at a small distance from the cylindrical inner body (3).
