In the tongue bed having a base plate (1) and bearing rails (2,3) extending upwards from the base plate (1) a flexible movable point of two converging rails can be positioned either to the right or to the left from the inside against the bearing rails (2,3). Production by casting requires large machining allowances because of the demands for accuracy, and welding against the remaining rail section is problematic by virtue of the fact that complete removal of bubbles from the casting can only be achieved with difficulty. In the case of tongue beds of forged or rolled solid material, this difficulty is overcome; however, a large amount of material has to be cut away. The problem exists of producing a dimensionally accurate tongue bed possessing good metallurgical properties and with a large freedom in the selection of material, which can readily be connected with the adjoining rails and involves little expenditure in terms of labour. For this purpose, the bearing rails (2,3) are welded at the foot with the base plate (4 to 7). In spite of the possibility of achieving high strengths of above 800 N/qmm, the machining work is small, and a good structure can be achieved by means of a deforming pre-treatment, forging or rolling. <IMAGE>

Bei dem Herzstückbett mit einer Bodenplatte (1) und sich von der Bodenplatte (1) nach oben erstreckenden Anlageschienen (2,3) kann eine beweglich biegsame, aus zwei Schienen zusammenlaufende Spitze von innen entweder rechts oder links an die Anlageschienen (2,3) angelegt werden. Die Herstellung durch Gießen erfordert wegen der Genauigkeitsanforderungen große Bearbeitungszugaben, und das Anschweißen an den übrigen Schienenstrang ist wegen der nur schwer erreichbaren völligen Blasenfreiheit des Gußstücks schwierig. Bei Herzstückbetten aus geschmiedetem oder gewalztem Vollmaterial ist diese Schwierigkeit überwunden; jedoch muß sehr viel Material spanend abgetragen werden. Es besteht das Problem, ein Herzstückebett mit guten metallurgischen Eigenschaften bei weitgehend freizügiger Materialauswahl, das sich gut mit den angrenzenden Schienen verbinden läßt, mit geringem Arbeitsaufwand maßgenau zu fertigen. Dazu sind die Anlageschienen (2,3) am Fuß mit der Bodenplatte verschweißt (4 bis 7). Trotz der Erreichbarkeit hoher Festigkeiten von über 800 N/qmm ist die Zerspanungsarbeit gering, und es kann durch eine verformende Vorbehandlung, Schmieden oder Walzen, ein gutes Gefüge erreicht werden.
