[origin: EP0270839A1] The closure device comprises a T-shaped element (8) having a vertical portion (9), fixed to the end (1a) of a rod (1) rotatable on the face of the shutter of the door, and a horizontal part (10) fork-shaped at one end, with curved prongs (10a,10b) insertable within a coupler element having a double lug (19) protruding at one end of a plate-like element (16) fixed to the door-frame of the vehicle, said horizontal part (10) of said T-shaped element (8) having a longitudinal groove (13) engaging an element in the shape of a continuous rib (18) provided on said plate-like element (16). The coupling between the hook (8) and the coupler (16) begins when the curved tips (11,11a) of the prongs (10a,10b), as a consequence of the initial rotation of the vertical rod (1), act as levers by resting on the double lug (19) and force, by means of a further rotation of the fork-bearing rod, the rib (18) of the coupler to be gradually inserted in the longitudinal groove (13) until, when the coupling is achieved, the end of the horizontal part (10) of the T-shaped element (8) rests against an arrester abutment (20).
