[origin: US4774636A] To retain a double-ended elongated discharge lamp in position in an automotive headlamp, and prevent breakage or loosening of a connection of a base of the lamp at one end with the apex (5) of the reflector, a lamp retention and guide arrangement (14) including narrow strips extending radially from a sleeve (18) towards the inner wall of the reflector (1) is located, the sleeve receiving the forward end of the lamp. Eine Kfz-Scheinwerfer-Einheit enthält einen Reflektor (1), in dem eine zweiseitig gequetschte Entladungslampe (2) axial angeordnet ist. Die der Lichtaustrittsöffnung zugewandte vordere Quetschung (12) der Lampe ist in einer zylindrischen Tülle (13) geführt, die über eine Haltevorrichtung (14) starr mit dem Reflektor (1) verbunden ist. Eine Hülse an der vorderen Quetschung (12) erleichtert das Einfädeln in die zylindrische Tülle (13). Die Anordnung gewährt einen verbesserten Vibrationsschutz. Außerdem wird die Hochspannungsisolation dadurch verbessert, daß die elektrische Zuleitung zu der aus der vorderen Quetschung (12) austretenden Stromzuführung über einen Kabelkanal (17) an der Haltevorrichtung (14) erfolgt.
